For some people, spending a day at the beach is always a good idea. But if you want to go to a really awesome beach then take a look at our list of the top ten beaches in the entire world:
Great Beaches Close to the US
You need not go to the other side of the globe to find some of the best beaches. There’s Flamenco Beach in Culebra, Puerto Rico where the picturesque setting and the soft powdery sand will calm your mind, while you enjoy some BBQ with friends or go snorkeling.
In Cayo Largo, Cuba you can dip your toes in the waters of Playa Paraiso Beach, which is simply breathtaking and the waters are so calm it’s like the biggest and most stunning swimming pool in the world.
Then there’s Grace Bay in Providenciales (called Provo by locals). There’s a long stretch of white sand, alluring shades of blue and turquoise as seen from the shore, and crystal clear waters when snorkeling and diving.
And then there’s Baia do Sancho in Fernando de Noronha, Brazil. This is a perennial candidate for the best beach in the world. It’s not all that easy to get to, but the unspoiled natural beauty is well worth the effort.
While some people like to go to Europe to marvel at the centuries old castles, others like to think about sand castles instead. In Lampedusa, Sicily there’s Rabbit Beach, which is so beautiful with clear waters and soft sand.
You can also take a short hop to nearby Crete in Greece and relax in Elafonissi Beach. It’s very serene and calming here and the shallow waters make it ideal for families with young kids.
For those who are already in Ibiza, a truly worthwhile rest from the party scene can be found in Playa de Ses Illetes Beach, where the lovely views offer the perfect romantic backdrop.
Asia and Africa
While Thailand and Indonesia do boast impressive reputations as countries with some of the best beaches, the widely considered top beach destination in Asia is actually White Beach in Boracay, Philippines. You have sloping white sands, warm calm waters, and a humming tourist spot where all the amenities are available. During the day the beach is a great place for families, and at night there’s plenty of fun to be had.
Australia isn’t in Asia, but here you can also experience the photogenic allure of Whitehaven Beach. It’s considered the most photographed beach in the entire country. The sand is 98% white silica, and the warm waters are so clear you can easily spot the occasional sharks and stingrays.
Finally, there’s Africa. It may not be a continent famous for its beaches, but off the east coast you’ll find Praslin Island in Seychelles. Visit the picture-perfect Anse Lazio beach, where the water is in the darkest shade of blue.
Well, what are you waiting for? Plan your trip to any of these popular beaches and don’t forget to bring your sunscreen!
